One website that I find awesome for meeting like-minded people in "real life" is meetup.com.
Join a local area group or create one yourself!
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of groups in your area.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 -
Join a volunteer group for a cause you support.
You will meet many people who feel passionately about the same cause and will instantly have something to talk about. Additionally these groups often organize many projects and joining different committees will allow you to not only help out the group but also meet a variety of new people in the process.

Sports.
Most of us absolutely love sports. It's a neurotic passion (me included).
Either attend the event, throw a party or find where like-minded fans are hanging out. You will find many other people who have a similar interest and your common interest can lead to a new relationship. Celebrate and commiserate together as your favorite team has its ups and downs.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 -
Local Politics.
Getting involved in local politics can definitely lead to meeting new people. This can be a touchy subject because many of the people you meet may feel extremely passionate about their opinions. While this can be troublesome if you meet those with opinions that differ, you are also likely to meet many people who share opinions similar to yours.
If you are unhappy with your local politicians, create/find a group of like-minded people where you all in support of the same goal.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 -
Religion & Spirituality.
Attending religious services or spiritual groups (for non-religious folks) is a great way to meet new people. Having a like-minded date or mate in this area is very important to many people. Now, while the religious service itself may not promote meeting new people, religious groups often participate in a variety of other daily and weekly activities.
Spiritual groups are formed by other people seeking like-minded people with the same beliefs. They want to meet people and grow! Hint. Hint.0 0 0 0 0 0 0
